The Creamy, High-Protein Dressing That Made Me Actually Like Salads 🥗
Eat your skincare, the Korean way — this gut-friendly, collagen-supporting dressing is the perfect blend of sweet, tangy, and creamy.
I used to hate salads.
Yeah, I know… unexpected as a health & wellness girlie. But I never preferred a salad over a rice bowl, soup, or a warm wrap. They felt boring, and honestly? Not satisfying.
Until one day last year, my mom and I made this Greek yogurt dressing — and we absolutely fell in love with it. It elevated the whole dish! With some crisp greens, crunchy veg, juicy protein… chef’s kiss✨. I like to think this recipe is what made me genuinely enjoy eating salads again.
Now, it doesn’t just go well with salads, it’s so versatile! I also love using it with leftover rotisserie chicken, as a dip for veggies and crackers, or as a creamy topping over rice bowls. It even reminds me of a lighter, tangier version of tzatziki — cooling, creamy, and just the right amount of zing.
The Recipe 🌿
Serves 4
Ingredients:
1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp finely chopped onion (about 1/4 of a small onion)
1/2–1 tsp salt (start with 1/2 tsp, taste, then add more as needed)
Instructions:
Stir together Greek yogurt, lemon juice, honey, chopped onion, and salt until smooth and creamy.
Taste and adjust! More honey = sweeter. More lemon = zingier.
Let it sit in the fridge for 10–15 minutes so the onion mellows out and the flavors mix.
Why It’s Skin-Loving 💕
🌿 Greek Yogurt = Protein + Probiotics
Protein helps support collagen production (hello, firmness and bounce!), while probiotics keep your gut healthy. When your gut’s thriving, your skin shows it.
🍋 Lemon = Brightens + Protects
Rich in vitamin C, lemon helps brighten your skin and protect it from oxidative stress (aka one of the sneakiest culprits behind dullness and breakouts).
🧅 Onion = Gut-Feeding Prebiotics
Onions are a natural source of prebiotics, which feed your good gut bacteria and support digestion. Less internal inflammation = calmer, clearer skin.
🍯 Honey = Soothes + Hydrates
Naturally antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, honey helps calm inflammation from the inside out, while also supporting hydration and that dewy glow we all love.
How I Like to Use It 🍲
Tossed into a simple salad with your favorite protein for a quick, 5-minute lunch
As a creamy dip for sliced carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, or crackers
Drizzled over a rice bowl to tie everything together
Spread on sourdough or rice cakes for a savory, high-protein snack
Mixed into leftover rotisserie chicken or canned tuna for an easy, creamy chicken/tuna salad — perfect for meal prep or to snack on throughout the week
How to Store It 🧊
Store it in an airtight jar or container in the fridge for up to 5–7 days. Just give it a stir before each use, since it may naturally separate a bit.
FAQ 🧠
Can I use full-fat yogurt instead of nonfat?
Yes! It’ll make it creamier and add healthy fats, which can help with satiety and support hormone health. Go with what feels best for your taste buds and your body. My mom and I usually use nonfat Greek yogurt just because that’s what we always have in the fridge — it’s protein-packed, light, and super versatile for both sweet and savory dishes.
What can I use instead of onion?
If raw onion is too strong for you, swap with finely chopped shallots for a milder bite. Or skip it entirely and add a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder for flavor without the texture.
Does this taste sweet?
It has a light sweetness from the honey, but nothing overpowering. If you want a sweeter flavor to balance the tang of the Greek yogurt and lemon, feel free to add more honey to taste. If you’re more of a tangy/savory person, start with half the honey and adjust from there.
Can I meal prep this?
Yes! In fact, it gets even better after sitting for a bit. Just store it in an airtight jar or container in the fridge and stir before each use. It should stay fresh for up to 5–7 days.
I’m so excited for you to try this one. It’s one of those recipes that makes you feel good during and after eating it. A little creamy, a little tangy, and a lot nourishing — for your skin and soul 💖
